Looking at the 2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X will give you fond memories of the bed-mounted sport bars that used to be found on various pickup trucks. The style was popular a few decades ago and looked similar to a roll bar which was attached to the truck bed. In recent years, automakers have been helping this feature make a return, and the latest GMC Sierra is a perfect example. The new All Terrain X trim showcases this as well as other great features.
The New GMC Sierra Trim
The full-size GMC Sierra 1500 already had the All Terrain trim level, which is known for its off-road abilities. The 2016 model will also feature an All Terrain X trim that takes this existing trim level and adds even more off-road-friendly amenities.
Adding the X to Sierra All Terrain X
The All Terrain X is considered a package that builds on the All Terrain. The Sierra All Terrain already has an off-road Z71 suspension, Rancho shocks, skid plates, 4-wheel drive, an Inclinometer, a spray-in bedliner, and rear park-assist sensors. Adding the X Package will also throw in Goodyear Wrangler off-road tires rated for mud terrain, 18-inch wheels with a black finish, LED headlights, running-board steps, and some exterior elements, like body-colored door handles and black on the door mirrors and trim. It also adds the sport bar mentioned above.
Sierra All Terrain X Availability and Options
You can choose from six colors for your Sierra 1500 All Terrain X. If you plan to add the All Terrain X package, you will need to get an SLT trim with a crew cab and short truck bed.
