Look at the GMC lineup and you will notice multiple SUVs that have enough room for you, your family and friends, and your cargo. The 2016 GMC Yukon and 2016 GMC Acadia both give you three rows of seats. However, they are more different than alike, making it easy to figure out which of these GMC SUVs you should drive around Milton.
2016 Acadia vs 2016 Yukon: Size
Just glancing at the 2016 Yukon and Acadia will show you that the Yukon is the more spacious of the two for passengers. The only exceptions to this are third-row headroom, where the Acadia has an extra 0.3 inches, and third-row legroom, where the Acadia has a good amount of room and the Yukon is somewhat cramped. The Acadia also has an extra 0.9 inches of second-row headroom, but the Yukon has more space for every single other passenger dimension across all three rows.1
2016 Acadia vs 2016 Yukon: Cargo Space
While the 2016 GMC Yukon optimizes passenger space, the Acadia gives you more room for cargo. The Yukon has 15.3 cubes behind the third row, 51.7 behind the second, and 94.7 behind the first. The Acadia increases these figures to 24.1, 70.1, and 116.1 cubic feet, respectively. In other words, Milton drivers will want the Yukon if they prefer passenger space and the Acadia if they want to maximize fuel economy.
2016 Acadia vs 2016 Yukon: Engines
Another key difference between the 2016 GMC Yukon and Acadia is their engines. Most Yukon models have a 355-horsepower, 5.3-liter V8 engine while the Yukon Denali has a 420-horsepower, 6.2-liter V8. The Acadia has a bit less power, with a still respectable 281-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 that generates 288 horses in the Denali. Either GMC SUV can get up to 18 mpg combined when configured correctly. Because of the Yukon’s more powerful engine, it is capable of towing as much as 8,400 pounds while the Acadia can handle up to 5,200. The extra power of the Yukon does come with a much higher starting price.
